Tuxedo Mark: How absolutely pathetic. Five items, three of which are entirely reprints. Only two new 5-page stories for the entire month. Only two of the four "main" digests. And the story in the girls' digest features Bingo and Pureheart.

Did you know Archie is launching a NEW Josie and the Pussycats comic in September?

The cover price is $3.99 in the U.S. and Canada. So, if you bought each issue individually, 12 issues would cost you $47.88.

First 100 Subscribers Only!
Because you are a loyal Archie fan, you get this exclusive offer of 12 issues for as little as $19.99!!

I'm tempted, but I haven't heard great things about subscribing with them. (Even when I was a kid subscribed to the Betty and Veronica digests, I remember them not showing up and my dad having to call lol.)

Anyone totally disagree with that? Because, like I said, I'm pretty tempted if there's still under 100 people subscribing.

Three years ago I renewed my subscriptions to the digests for 2 years. Got a great deal at that time. Of course, some books went from 10/11 times a year to 6, so the subscriptions for some books turned into 3 years. Last summer when Archie closed their offices for 2 weeks, laid off staff, and changed their distribution center - trouble started. While they were closed for 2 weeks I missed 3 books. I emailed them about it & they said the books were 'sold out'. To be fair they did extend my subscriptions, but since then I've emailed them about every 2 months for missed issues. My subscriptions run out next month & I'm not renewing. OK, now here's the good news. In Canada you can go into any WalMart & get 3 digests (you have to buy 3), regardless of the cover price, for $10.00 Canadian + tax. Most of the digests in Canada are $5.99 and $6.99. You can do the math. If I subscribe I have to pay in U$ Dollar$. I just check as each digest comes out, wander over to the WalMart Supercenter & pick them up. Every now & then I have to take a 'Sonic' book to make up 3 because of the lag in books coming out. Trust me, I'm still ahead. Do I still buy Archie books? Sure, but I won't subscribe again.

The 100 is to just get people to buy subscriptions before they "run out." I'm pretty sure they'll extend the special pricing to more than 100 people.

When people were reporting they were getting their subscriptions up to a week early I was tempted to subscribe again. But it is so variable even within a title. i.e. the Jughead digest doesn't always come early and sometimes it's even late!

The whole point of a subscription is to make things easier and cheaper for the consumer. The digests are supposed to come automatically in the mail on time so you don't have to worry about going out to buy them from a store or even online. I much prefer reading them digitally now on the day they're released. The price of wasting my time having to call or email them to get my copy isn't worth the money I'd be saving through a subscription. I still buy some things physically but usually just variant covers or things that aren't available digitally.

100% right. For example I haven't gotten 'Betty & Veronica Friends' digest #250. It's been out at the grocery stores for about 3 - 4 weeks. So - once again - tomorrow I'll have to send them off an email. They give you up to 90 days to report a missing book, but it's a question of yes/no they'll send you a replacement book. My subscription ends at #251 & then I'll go back to buying it (at a discount) in store. On a more positive note, B&V friends #249 was a good digest. Good assortment of artists from past years & good stories.

Okay, already. Quit with the griping. I just thought there might be somebody interested.

When you get right down to it, most of these comics aren't worth buying anyway. Better to just download them off torrents or something.
