Announcements / Re: FYI: Server Move

Just a quick heads up to everyone. I will be moving the site over to a new server late Wednesday into Thursday (probably around 12:30am EST Thursday morning). I am staying with the same host - the move is simply to take advantage of a newer version of the operating system (due to the way things work, upgrading directly to the new version can't be done easily short of rebuilding the entire VPS, which would result in longer downtime). The downtime should be less than 24 hours, though it will depend on how long it takes your ISP to detect the DNS changes. I will post here and put the site in maintenance mode before I start the move and post here again when things are finished.

Thanks for the heads up....

Here Betty goes old school.  No crystals, no liquids or gels.  If the Cooper household is typical of others in the US regarding their choice of cosmetic and grooming products, there is an over 50% chance Betty is using a bar of Dove.

Just wondering if others toss the bar into the tub ahead of themselves getting in?

Well, since she's thinking "cheap" and "plain", I would say Ivory soap. Can't get much more "basic soap" than that. Furthermore, IIRC, Ivory soap is a simple flat rectangular brick, whereas Dove soap is kind of oval-shaped and (I think) curved rather than flat. Dove soap would probably make more sense for a teenage girl since it has some fragrance to it and contains emollients more gentle to the skin, but as far as bar soaps go, I wouldn't consider Dove soap cheap and plain. Definitely less cheap and plain than Ivory soap, and even less cheap and plain than many middle-of-the-road soap brands like Irish Spring or Zest.
When I had used soap, I preferred Dial or Safeguard...

I think (think, now) that the writers are trying to strengthen the flimsy friendship of Betty and Ronica by having them go through this. Perhaps, though, they should have chosen a stronger subject. As for Pop's Shoppe fate? Please. It's Pop's.  :D  It's an institution in Riverdale. I predict it's not going anywhere. Hm. I think I may just have figured out what's going to happen: How about a combination of the two ideas? Pop's Coffee Shop? It would appease both girls, and strengthen their friendship...  :)

She could be Valerie, or even Josie. Or maybe even Harper. Heck, if I didn't already know Reggie was going to be Hispanic in the show, I wouldn't put it past them to turn him into a black female character, either.

I just don't understand. ACP already has the diversity angle down pat. Why go and change the iconic look? I COULD understand if just about all the characters were White, but I don't recognize this show, save the characters just having the same names....  :tickedoff:

Ah, I think she's Josie. I recall she'll be Black ALONG with Valerie. Redundancy, anyone?  ::)

I really do not believe Trump is a racist (and I am Mexican, by the way). Besides Clinton also has a HUGE list of awful things she has done. But what's done is done. Dems need to stop crying about it and need to stop rioting and burning flags and all those tantrums and man up already.
This one has, and as an Black man, his harping about the Birther issue concerning President Obama was very offensive to me. Hillary did win the popular vote. That's a fact. Electoral College has to go...

I'm just glad Hillary the Crooked, Lying, Criminal Clinton lost.

As opposed to the racist, lying, sexist con man business dude who never released his tax returns? The man who wants to build a wall? The man who insulted just about everybody he could via 3 a.m. tweets? The man who allegedly flimflammed students at his "university", which has yet to be tried in court? The man who insulted the Khan family who lost their son defending his country in Iraq, not to mention so many other things he said and did? Oh, yeah, mocking the disabled reporter. THAT was a doozy that was ignored.

Besides, these were allegations that never have been proven against Hillary Clinton, only rumors told over and over again over the years that eventually were to believed to be true. I shake my head slowly at the defense of this man. Truth be told, I really feel as if Trump really didn't believe he would win for some reason. We'll see if he'll try to turn over as much power as possible to Pence while Trump himself plays golf....

Just remember that you Trumpians own everything. If this Great Experiment of Trump fails, it's on YOU....

I question the math on that one. So theoretically then, the other 99% didn't vote?

Actually, combined roughly only 50% of eligible voters voted. This means 50% did not vote. There's the math. And Hillary won the popular vote, by the way. It's like 2000, save for Trump winning more electoral votes. The Trumpians wanted him, they got him, and now we can all see how "great" he's going to make America again. Their party has all the branches of government, so they own it. Pretty cut and dry to me, DR....

Sadly, I was worried.
1)Sanders was the choice of the People, & Mrs Clinton defied that choice.
At her peril.
2) She spoke of Foreign Policy, and essentially ignored vital Domestic Issues. Trump's solutions are wrong, but Mrs Clinton said little or nothing.
3) The Democratic Party has become the Party of sipping white wine on the patio, with suburban professionals, & has forgotten how to speak to the Worker.

But the Establishment Repubs aren't? They're just as bad. I've heard Trump really was a third party candidate who ran as a Repub, the same for Bernie with the Dems. I guess Comey's 1st FBI letter made the Repubs come home (or gave them an excuse to do so). Just remember that you Trumpians own everything. If this Great Experiment of Trump fails, it's on YOU....

No, you're not seeing double with the topic. Dead serious, here, no soap or body wash. Welp. Trump's President-elect now. Our long national nightmare has just begun.  :uglystupid2: :knuppel2:  I want to know outside of Trump himself, who saw THIS coming? Discuss....
