Certainly not one which would have occurred to me. Well, at least they're trying to keep the crossover concept going, but legal logistics probably rule out any kind of 'dream crossover' projects with Star Wars or Spider-Man. Superman would seem to be at least a possibility based on previous AC/DC co-productions, so fingers crossed for next time.

Certainly sounds like more plot than they can squeeze down into a standard 5-pager, though. FINGERS CROSSED!

I review "All The Right Angles" from Betty and Veronica Spectacular #14.

I read this yesterday for the first time. It's pretty funny - if a bit on the wordy side.

Here's one thing that surprised me. It seems this is where Riverdale High's cheerleading squad was first called the River Vixens. Okay, technically, it's spelled Rivervixens here, but I was surprised to learn it was first used in a classic-style Archie comic story and was later reused on Riverdale. I'd always assumed Riverdale was the first to name them as such. RAS (the creator of Riverdale) wrote this story, so it seems he just borrowed the name from himself.

I've read all except the final issue of the original miniseries and haven't read either issue of Something Wicked yet. I like it.

The series seems to be on pause, because Archie Comics refuses to put out digital issues of floppies without putting out the physical issues - in order to placate the comic shop owners.

The Archie title keeps delaying the release of its next issue, too. I can't help wondering if Archie would rather cancel its floppies than risk the wrath (and belly fat) of comic shop owners.

The new digests have been lacking new stories, too.

Archie Universe Sliding Timeline

Class of 2021 Edition

Introduction:

Since 2008, I have done a sliding timeline post. Archie Comics seems to keep the main characters at around the same age (it varies here and there), so, logically, each year, the characters' birth dates are advanced by one year.

What this post attempts to do is try to figure out the characters' perspective and frame of reference for viewing the world. This is primarily done through supplementing the actual Archie content with various real-world pop culture, political, and other events, whether they were mentioned/parodied in the comics, are/were otherwise widely popular, or are just personal favorites of mine. All of these things are things that the characters, if they existed in the real world, would have actually experienced, so they sort of provide context and/or flavor for the gang's adventures. This can also be useful for the writers when writing new stories. Of course, I'm aware that people can become aware of things (music, movies, television series, video games, books, etc.) that came out before they were born, but they weren't there "as it happened", and thus these things hold no nostalgic value to them. Also, keep in mind that people generally don't remember things before the age of two (in this case, 2005).

I am assuming 1) the characters were born in 2003 and 2) will graduate from high school in 2021 at the age of 18.

In addition to updating the information, I have sorted it into rough chronological order as the characters would have experienced them (or, in the cases of pre-birth events, wouldn't have experienced them).
