"To Riverdale and back again" was, quite frankly, the weirdest thing i've ever seen. People seem to hate Riverdale for being too dark and edgy, but TRABA was flat out depressing! Everyone was some combination of divorced, in an unhappy relationship, in an ABUSIVE relationship, or just generally miserable- either failed to make it in the big city or stuck in a small town. At least Riverdale looks entertaining, my friends and i stopped halfway through TRABA because it was so bleak!

I dunno, I don't see how a comedy Archie show would work all that well. The Archie comedy has always been, well, rather traditional and not really anything special. The 2015 reboot, I think, would have made a great tv show- all the right balance between drama and actually clever jokes and moments- when i read the first issue, i thought "This is the best TV pilot i've ever read!". While Riverdale did sort of come out of left field, I think it's going to be over the top and dramatic enough to be, if not good, at least entertaining.

Did Dilton ever appear in the New Archie's cartoon?  I was wondering as well about the introduction of Eugene who seemed to replace Dilton as TuxedoMark mentions.  I know Eugene was in the comic book, but not sure if he ever appeared with Dilton in the comics.
I think Eugene was invented because, according to the creators, they wanted at least some diversity but had trouble fitting in Chuck with the group dynamics.

I agree! From a writing standpoint, it's most likely Cheryl, Polly, or Betty's mom- everyone else is too important to be a murderer or not important enough to care about. I would say Cheryl is too likely, and Polly isn't given a lot of importance. From parts of the leaked pilot, you can tell a LOT of focus is being put on the adults- which is downright strange for an Archie series! I think this is to make Betty's mother a more credible character, and make the fact that she killed Jason more shocking.

Does anyone know of any B&V stories where the girls encounter magic?  Like witches, magical artifacts, or warlocks?  I know that there's one where Veronica finds a wishing pendant and where the girls find a genie, but I'm looking for something new (or old, I guess) to read.   The only stories that I seem to find are ones involving Sabrina and no offense to my favorite teenage witch, I kinda want something where B&V are in the spotlight.  Thanks in advance

This may sound strange, but a Column I enjoy called "Ask Chris" talks about a Frank Doyle (The king of Archie Writers!) story where Betty and Veronica meet...Satan.

Political Correctness is a cancer. It ruins everything.
I'm sorry but I really don't see how changing the race of a couple characters is harming the source material. That's not even what "political correctness" is. The characters that are most changed from their comic counterpart are actually the ones who were kept white anyway.

What political correctness is in Archie? The only really image-conscious stuff you see Archie do is outside the comics, like shutting down parodies and fan-fictions.

Hi there! I go by Justnobody online, and I'm a huge archie fan who got here from a tumblr friend! I've been into it for years now, I always sorta knew about it but never really picked up a digest until I read all of Afterlife With Archie in one sitting, hah. Looking forward to my time here!
