This is the only one missing from my collection if double digests before year 2000.

It's quite ironic that the titular character Archie is among my least liked characters in the series too aside from those 5, he's a total jerk.

Betty and Veronica since I love reading Dan DeCarlo stories. I like their stories about travels, sleepovers, shopping and high school cliques.

My collection of double digests pre-2000 are almost complete now and I've realized something. Stories printed in the 256 page Double Digests (from 1983-1991) are hardly reprinted in the newer digests and double digests (circa 2000-present). Unlike the Stories in the digests and double digest beyond 1997 they are regularly reprinted from time to time most even have a pattern.


That's why i prefer reading the older double digests than the ones released beyond 2000, the stories are much rare.

Who are your least liked characters in the Archie universe?


Here's mine

1. Jughead - Lazy, Moocher, Glutton, pretty much a useless person in the real life society
2. Kevin Keller - I don't like token characters
3. Raj Patel - Same reason as number 2. In my opinion, Archie comics really went downhill when they added more token characters like them in 2000s.
4. Mr. Howitzer - Military-based characters are a turn-off
5. Katy Keene - looks more like a drag queen than a fashion model

Were all stories from every 32 or 48 page archie comics from 60s t0 2000s reprinted in the digests?

There seems to be four versions of these stories. It opens up with Archie saying that season is his favorite season and Jughead responds by saying "You say that in every season." The stories end with something that makes Archie regret about saying that it is his favorite season.

Who is the artist for this?

In this story, Mr. Weatherbee is in the yard gardening and he made a comment how plump his tomatoes are. Two old women heard the comment and thought he was talking dirty about them so they attacked Mr. Weatherbee.

Pretending you can afford something when your wallet is empty is a form of social climbing. Seriously, Veronica is out of Archie's league.

And yes, there are a number of stories wherein Archie tries to fit in Veronica's upper crust crowd.

Does anyone have caps on these one page gags?

The story wherein a lost dog knocks on Andrews home, when Archie opens the door the dog lets itself in much to the surprise of Archie's parents which scared the poor dog. Archie's mother suggested to look for the dog's owner and hinted that Archie may get a reward for doing so. Archie daydreams of his possible rewards like a date with the dog's owner or perhaps material gains. When they reach the dog's owner's home, it turns out that the owner is a lonely old lady who can't afford to give any reward but a simple thank you. Archie concluded that it was the best reward he had received.
