Well folks, now that we have a new, sick, twisted, disturbing more-like-Twin Peaks-Than-Archie Riverdale TV show on the horizon, might as well compare it to 1990's To Riverdale and Back Again (AKA Return to Riverdale, the butchered home video version.)

I'm actually looking forward to Riverdale. It seems like it's going to be totally insane.

I'd have to agree that it certainly sounds "totally insane", but maybe not in the same sense that you're meaning. More like in the sense that sanity is good, and INsanity is bad...

At least in the To Riverdale and Back Again movie, there's an explosion that Michael Bay would be proud of.

"To Riverdale and back again" was, quite frankly, the weirdest thing i've ever seen. People seem to hate Riverdale for being too dark and edgy, but TRABA was flat out depressing! Everyone was some combination of divorced, in an unhappy relationship, in an ABUSIVE relationship, or just generally miserable- either failed to make it in the big city or stuck in a small town. At least Riverdale looks entertaining, my friends and i stopped halfway through TRABA because it was so bleak!

If your going to give beloved comic book characters their own show, the #1 thing you need to think about are the fans!


I like to use Sabrina the Teenage witch as an example. Shes one of my favorite characters, and the TV show was great! It payed amazing respect to the original source, but it was still able to branch out more... and it was a comedy! I don't think any Sabrina fan would be insulted by it.


It was a HORRIBLE idea to make Riverdale this awful drama... The comics are comedic! You think a comedy would be the obvious choice!



I haven't watched to Riverdale and back again in a while. But it was BAD.

Yeah,I agree with you lets hope it gets cancelled when it has mixed reviews or something especially hoping if it has 'low ratings' and hope that archie comics will be make a proper series instead but this time with either comedy (a sitcom) or a drama comedy like scrubs
